MIT CHAPEL \ Public space that feels private
I consider the MIT Chapel as a public place that feels private because I've always felt that religious places of prayer/worship have a certain intimate quality about them. Qualities of light and acoustics, along with the purpose of the space, create the private atmosphere.
FENWAY PARK \ Private space that feels public
I consider Fenway Park as a private place because the average baseball fan cannot gain access without purchasing a ticket and going through a metal detector. When you can see the field during a game you could be surrounded by more than 30,000 fans, making Fenway Park seem very public. Various sounds of people and music create the public environment.
