THE HOLLOW
To animate the site’s ability to hold you. The site’s topography is a very unique characteristic in itself, one unawarely becoming enveloped within it. The ‘hollow’, as I am calling it, is framed by trees on the water’s edge, and creates subtle thresholds that bait the curious into discovering unseen pathways. The topography and line of trees together cradle those who pass through, gracefully framing the bowl of the land. By vitalizing the lungs of the site that encircle you closely, an inviting calm and stillness can be erected.
